Winter is one of the best times of the year to receive a VI Peel. The low humidity and cool temperatures allow for the perfect patient experience. Practitioners should consider patients with oily and acneic skin. For those with this skin type, cold weather minimizes the amount of oil produced by their sebaceous glands. Low oil production combined with the dry weather allows for the peel to
better penetrate the patient’s skin, offering greater exfoliation.
After the peer, we suggest cool water to cleanse the face because hot water can over-dry the skin. Since heaters have a tendency to rid the air of moisture we recommend using a cool-mist humidifier. It's important to advise patients to use scarves and VI Derm SPF 50+ sunscreen. Keeping the skin moisturized is crucial. Patients may use coconut oil or Aquaphor in addition to VI'sPost Peel Protectant.
